Solutions for Demanding Business
The Fenix information system by Asseco Solutions has been supporting the processing of agenda related to the town of Spálené Poříčí activities since 2001. This year the town has significantly extended the scope of the system, thus it will cover all its agenda and make the communication between the authority and local citizens and companies more effective. Spálené Poříčí has therefore joined the pool of the most significant customers of this information system.
The first sets of agenda were treated by the municipality staff in the Fenix system as early as in 2001. By that time they had utilized various DOS systems, which, however, had come to fall behind the requirements related to the agenda and the communication. In view of this and in compliance with the instruction of the District Authority a new system - Fenix - was acquired in 2001. In the course of the following nine years the system and scope demands kept increasing and in 2010 the agenda has considerably been extended.
„The reason for our decision to purchase other elements offered by the Fenix system consisted among others in our requirement to implement electronic records service,“ explains ing. Monika Rojová, Spálené Poříčí Secretary, and adds: „However, it was not clear at the beginning whether there would be the enlargement of Fenix or the selection of another system. Therefore we organized a tender, in which six prospective providers were addressed. And the Fenix system was again chosen as the most suitable and comprehensive solution.“
At present the last phase of the implementation is being executed at Spálené Poříčí. The implementation comprises the installation of the system, then the training of future users, subsequently the remote system administration and naturally the operational solution of customer queries and requests.
After the completion of the implementation, the following modules will be available: eRegistry, Built-in Document Flow, Budget, Accounting and Reporting, Book of Invoices In, Book of Accounting Documents, Treasury, Receivables, Assets, Register Office and Register of Inhabitants. There will also be a common interconnection of the system with data boxes, as well as a substantially swifter handling of reference numbers and naturally the support of exports into PDF and MS Office.
„This is a large step forward for our authority,“ claims Ms. Rojová. „Our mayor was hard to convince of this project´s contribution at the beginning, but nowadays we all consider this decision to be correct.“
The town of Spálené Poříčí is the center of the southern part of the Podbrdsko area. It lies in a wooded area approximately 25 kilometers south of Plzeň. The first mention of Poříčí (that is, in Czech, a settlement established near a river), dates back to 1239. In the 17th century it obtained the epithet Spálené („burned“ in English), as it was repeatedly afflicted with vast fires. In 1992 the center of Spálené Poříčí was declared urban conservation area. The principal sights feature the Renaissance chateau (extensively rebuilt several times), Baroque parish next to a peasant timbered house (Information Center at present), former Jewish merchant house, Jewish cementery and former brewery. This was just the restoration of these sights for which was the town granted a prestigious award „Historical Town of the Czech Republic 2003“. In the surroundings of the town are a lot of marked paths for both hiking and cycling and a few nature preserves.
