Cleanliness around Us with the Helios Green System | 01. 06. 2009

Not long ago the company Komwag joint the pool of the key accounts of the Helios Green ERP system. This company provides the services in the field of waste management, which cover the whole array of activities,ranging from operating and installing the networks of garbage cans via operating waste containers up to liquidating illegal dumps. The company is active in the field of the management of car, pedestrian and other public areas, participates in the winter and summer maintenance of infrastructure and in the maintenance of urban green areas.

By its extensive range of services the company Komwag covers thousands of projects with partners from both the state and the private sector. The company is equipped with up-to-date technic, such as snow ploughs with grit sprayers, vehicles for the collection of municipal waste or street sweepers. All the activities are coordinated by the dispatching. In view of this it is understandable that the management of such a complicated enterprise has to be supported by a comprehensive information system.

Virtually from its establishment the company Komwag utilized for its activities a tailor-made ERP system. However in the course of time it had difficulty becoming adapted to the ever-growing demands of an expanding company with a stretching portfolio of activities. Therefore a tender to select a new information system was opened in 2008. This tender was however relatively very simple, because the Komwag management had already had good experience with the Helios Orange system, produced by LCS too.

„The tender lasted no more than a few days,“ remembers Ing. Jan Petružálek, Komwag Technical Director and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors. „As a matter of fact we were already convinced prior to its being open that Helios Green represents a good solution. This conviction was only strengthened during the presentation. We had been using Helios Orange for several years and so the extension by Helios Green was a logical step. But another significant factor consisted in the fact that our partner company Pražské služby uses the Helios Green system for the whole system of collection in the area of Prague,“ adds Mr. Petružálek.

The contract between the companies Komwag and LCS was signed in September 2008 and the implementation was started promptly afterwards. It was executed in cooperation with the partner company INFO NOVA. The implementation was completed in May 2009, which meant a slight delay, emerged in pursuance of additional post-developments and requirements of the customer.

When asked what the Komwag management appreciates most about the new system after using it for a few weeks, Mr. Petružálek answers: „The speed, flexibility and adaptability of the Helios Green system and also its interconnection with other information systems are substantial for us.“

A specialized solution Helios Green POPEL is now being implemented at Komwag. This system fully covers the needs in the sphere of waste management.

The company has for this aspect created its own communication strategy, which focuses directly on the users of its services. Komwag implemented and uses the quality system ISO 9 001 a environmental management system ISO 14 001. Both these systems were successfully certified.
