Autumn Novelties in the Asseco Solutions Products | 08. 09. 2009

In July 2009 two successful producers of company information systems (ERP systems) – Datalock of the Slovak Republic and LCS International of the Czech Republic – merged into a single subject Asseco Solutions. The systems by this company now cover the broadest possible array of companies of any sizes and focus, preferring both the Microsoft and Oracle platforms. In autumn 2009 the Datalock and Helios systems are launching a number of novelties prepared for their customers. Let us introduce the most interesting ones to you.

Novelties in the Datalock Systems

  • E-Learning in the Datalock SPIN system

The autumn Datalock SPIN novelty consists in electronic courses, which are included in each module of the system. The courses feature work procedures of concrete activities performed by a user. More demanding activities are also executed in the form of an animation, which describes individual operations step by step. This more and more sought-after way of learning and education can be used by the Datalock SPIN system users especially during their training and adaptation. Users can choose independent studies of the field which they need, and the course is available for them around the clock.

  • Extension of using barcodes in Datalock SPIN

The users of the Datalock SPIN production and logistic modules have been given an additional option to use a mobile device for scanning barcodes with the Windows Mobile operation program. The solution is independent of the technical execution of the device and in practice it accelerates the work on the receipt, warehousing, issue, inventory or records of goods.

  • Novelty for the public sector in Datalock SPIN

The Datalock SPIN accounting modules have been upgraded by functionalities needy for the consolidated statement of balances according to the International Accounting Standards for the Public Service.

  • New outputs from Datalock Wéčko

On the basis of the changes in the reporting for Sociální pojišťovna (Social Security Insurance Corporation) a new output is prepared for the users of the Datalock Wéčko system: „Application for the Return of the Insurance Premium Paid without a Due Reason“. Starting from 25 May 2009 the monthly statements of the insurance premium with an appendix, where the calculation basis or the payment of the insurance premium are of a negative value, have not passed through the electronic portal of Sociální pojišťovna. In view of the fact that these are relatively complicated recalculations for previous periods, Datalock Wéčko makes its users´ work easier and since Version 11.06 the system has been carrying out these calculations automatically.

  • Hotel and restaurant systems

As regards revenues, this year is a great test for the gastronomic sectors. Just now the Datalock BlueGastro and Datalock Horec systems can lend a hand to the owners of hotels, restaurants and bars. They e.g. get a better overview during the monitoring of staff, which will lead to the enhancement of their effectiveness – this is particularly made possible by the function of the multilevel monitoring of operations and its interconnection with a camera system. The systems also represent a useful aid in the sphere of accommodation services, for which a „service package“ is prepared, including the monitoring of revenues according to various criteria.

Great news consists in the fact that these systems were launched on the Czech market in September 2009 too.

  • Solution for the customs agenda newly in Slovakia, and this with the Datalock systems too

The integrated solution Customs, which was in the past related to the Helios systems, will be available for the Datalock systems customers from autumn 2009 too. It covers the needs of the companies specializing in trading with non-EU countries and having to go through the customs procedure or of the companies providing services related to customs declarations. The module can newly be utilized conjointly with the Datalock SPIN and Datalock Wéčko products. It is a tool for a comprehensive preparation of the customs procedure and it enables a simple preparation of the INTRASTAT monthly report and of any customs declaration and the keeping of the records of any types of customs and tax documents, including those in the Inward Processing. The system naturally features a secure electronic communication with the Public Service Portal.

It goes without saying that the solution for the customs agenda can be used with the Helios systems in Slovakia too – in the same way as it can be in the Czech Republic.

Novelties in the Helios systems

Helios Green

In autumn 2009 the Helios Green system brings about a lot of novelties focused on the communication with the Internet, customers and business partners and predominantly a lot of new tools to reduce corporate costs.

  • Electronic invoicing

This is a native electronic distribution of documents from the Helios Green system.  By using this functionality it is possible to significantly save on the costs of printing, envelopes and postage but also on the time of the staff carrying out the print and mailing of invoices. At the same time it is possible to shorten the way of an invoice to a supplier and thus also the payment time.

  • Scanning of documents with subsequent records within Helios Green
  • Insolvency Register

These days the credibility of business partners is of a greater importance than ever. Therefore the Helios Green system will newly provide a link to the Insolvency Register ( https://isir.justice.cz ) too.

  • Data loading from the Internet – a function for an automated completion of the information on organizations from the public registers available on the Internet
  • Mailing of bulk emails from the Helios Green systems – newsletters, invitation cards, novelties
  • Bulk usage of approval and other processes within the Workflow module
  • Library module – records of books, magazines, DVDs and other materials lent to the staff
  • Support of data boxes
  • Colour schemes

Helios Orange

Since autumn 2009 the Helios Orange team will provide its customers with a number of novelties, which can generally be called Helios Assimilation. They are based on the adaptation of the system so that it could be able to meet the requirements of other users within the framework of corporate processes. The goal of these changes consists in the system´s adaptation so that the work could be more effective, the support of international relations could be enhanced and the system could be used from remote places either via portable devices or a web client. Last but not least there is another goal – to open the system towards creating specialized custom functions and modules.

The four key novelties are as follows:

  • Handling the system via mobile devices (PDA, intelligent mobiles), which is an ideal tool especially for trading. As the first application Asseco Solution is preparing a solution for trading companies – mobile selling or mobile collection of orders.
  • Personal portal of an employee  a solution which will make possible for the staff to handle the information from the information system via a web interface, while the user will be able to enter the system anytime and from anywhere. It is intended for a personal agenda of the staff, such as attendance, travel orders, approval of leave etc. The solution is a feedback to the market´s requirement to develop the functionalities enabling the work on a journey, from a train or a hotel etc.
  • New development environments – Helios Core and Helios Interface – which are a part of the Helios Space Community (= subjects including those outside Asseco Solutions, which cooperate in the development of Helios Orange, mostly customers and partners). These development environments are available free of charge and continually improved. The purpose of this lies in the possibility of the system´s customers and partners to be able to interconnect it with other applications or to develop other applications on its basis themselves.
  • Support of foreign languages – it arises from the ambition to push Helios Orange outside the borders – and not just of the Czech Republic but of Europe too. The data entry into the system in other languages is made possible by the change in the coding from the original Latin 2 to Unicode, which has been executed in the Helios Orange system. Unicode is a new form of data saving, which supports the work with symbols different from these used in the Czech alphabet (or in the Central-European Code Page 1250), by which it enables the work with any different alphabets, e.g. the Russian alphabet (Russia, Russian-speaking countries and Bulgaria), the Cyrillic alphabet (Serbia) and the Romance (France, Spain and Italy). Since autumn 2009 it has been possible to collect, read, export, print and publish data on the Internet in these languages in the Helios Orange system. The transfer of Helios Orange to Unicode also simplifies its communication with operation systems and databases. With respect to this fact a package of foreign-language forms is prepared for the Helios Orange system customers.

Helios Red

Every year this system for small companies and sole traders brings a large number of novelties and improvements for a higher comfort of handling. And this year is no exception!

  • Same as in the previous years Helios Red offers a new module in 2009 too. The Invoice Book and the Treasury were in the past a part of the Accounting and from now on they can be acquired separately for an attractive price.
  • On 1 September 2009 an adapted Helios Red price list came into force, which mainly features a better feedback to the customer requirements in the sphere of program multilicences. We offer the choice of the number of the processed companies – up to 10, up to 30 or unlimited.
  • An interesting novelty consists in the possibility to acquire the Helios Red system via leasing, which includes the system support too.
  • The Helios Red team keeps expanding its partner network. In 2009 as many as the 66th Helios Red System Partnership Agreement was concluded.
  • The following novelty has been inspired by the effort to guarantee a maximum customer satisfaction – since September 2009 the initial training on the Helios Red program has been free of charge.
