Not only the popular skeleton of a whale or dinosaurs or precious minerals, but also a great deal of other treasures can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Prague, and this fact has been valid for as long as many a decade. However the name „National Museum“ does not mean only the building in Wenceslas Square, but also other sites full of miscellaneous collections – the Museum of Natural Sciences, the Historical Museum, Náprstek Museum, the Czech Museum of Music and the Library of the National Museum. It goes without saying that such a vast and at the same time organizationally-complicated subject cannot go without a superior and comprehensive information system.
This fact was perceived by the management of the museum as early as at the beginning of 1990s, when most companies did not even consider acquiring an information system. At that time the management of the National Museum chose the originally DOS-based Helios system by LCS. This system had been supporting the museum´s activities until 2003, when it was upgraded to a higher version, built already on the basis of MS Windows and called Helios IQ.
Nevertheless the higher version of the system came to fail to meet the ever-growing demands of the museum. Therefore it was decided to carry out another upgrade – to Helios Green. The contract between the National Museum and the producer of the system was signed on 30 June 2009 (thus on the very last day on which the company was still called LCS International – on 1 July 2009 the new name Asseco Solutions officially came into being). The implementation of the „big“ Helios has been performed since July 2009 and its start in the regular operation is presumed as of 1 January 2010.
„We highly value the fact that such a renowned institution as the National Museum has been a satisfied long-term customer of the Helios system and intends to be loyal to this brand in the future too,“ says Dušan Lapčík, Asseco Solutions Business Manager. „I believe that it is just Helios Green that is able to cover all its needs, including the most demanding ones,“ he adds.
From January 2010 on the system will function in the following scope of modules: Accounting, Economy, Invoicing, Bank, Treasury, Assets including barcodes, Order, Electronic Documents Flow, Workflow and Managerial Evaluation, all these for 15 simultaneously working users.
Asseco Solutions, a.s., in the same way as its predecessors DATALOCK and LCS, by the merger of which it came into being in 2009, is a producer of ERP systems. During 20 years of their existence both the companies became the leaders among the providers of company applications on the Czech and Slovak markets. In view of this fact Asseco Solutions is one of the strongest subjects in this sphere on the Central-European market. It is engaged not only in the development, but also in the implementation and support of specialized systems for companies of any sizes in various fields of business activity. Its ERP systems – Datalock and Helios - cover the broadest range of the corporate needs. All the systems are supplemented by a wide array of services and partner programmes and besides the basic modules and functionalities provide also the specialized solutions for concrete fields of business, the so-called “branch solutions”. The Asseco Solutions predecessors were certified for the quality system ISO 9001:2000, Datalock in 2004 and LCS in 2006. Both the companies became the members of the multinational ICT entity of ASSECO Group in 2007.
At present the entire Asseco Solutions has a staff of about 450. The 2008 turnover totalled over CZK 630 million.
